writing on the internet

I am an eternal lurker, and this site is me poking my head out of the shadows by just an inch.

My main reason for being such a lurker is being concerned of having nothing to say. I often believe that saying nothing is preferable to saying something "derivative", or daring to say something that someone somewhere has said or thought before. Every thought I have has to be completely and utterly original. One cannot share the same likes or dislikes or values or beliefs as another because it makes you "derivative", I sullenly say to myself, not realizing that this keysmash:

cvf yhknmuvhgtcxfzcgv bhiknjmbhuolgfgtcfrgxjdfuvcrx

probably mirrors another keysmash made in some place, some day, some time. Maybe even present place, Present Day, Present Time! Hahahahahahaha! However, in this moment, this keysmash is all mine. It is Copyrighted and you cannot have it.

At the same time, there is a very low chance that this would even be seen without actively offering it up to someone's eyes, or advertising it in some other form.

Really, why does it matter whether or not my output is wholly original? It doesn't, really. There is the chance of me making the terrible mistake of having differing opinions from an onlooker and they like chocolate ice cream the best and I prefer strawberry and now I've ruined someone's day. On a more serious note, writing for the sake of writing has its own merits, if not for anyone but yourself, because it makes you better at articulating your thoughts, if not only to yourself.

If you're only going to talk to yourself, you might as well make for good conversation.

I dunno. Maybe I'll post some random thoughts here at times. TODO maybe get one of those fancy schmancy blog generators

If you have randomly stumbled upon this page, welcome. Stay a while, enjoy the (at time of writing, maybe I'll leave it like this for the funny) lack of styling.
